66 - Nikki - “My husband's New Age activity is bringing demons into our home.”
“The shadow people are in my room again mom.” Nikki, the mother of a young lady in her early twenties, and a ten-year-old son, corresponded back and forth with me about evil manifestations taking place in her home, as a result of her husband opening doors to the demonic through New Age and occult practices.”
The Off-White Deception: Unmasking Satan's Subtle Lies
Are you surrounded by a "cesspool of darkness" like Nikki and family in today’s recording? Do you feel vulnerable, struggling to discern truth from cleverly disguised lies? Today's devotional focuses on the critical need for spiritual discernment, especially when facing deceptive influences, like the ones Nikki was allowing into her home.
The demonic manifestations and darkness in Nikki’s home were rooted in someone she initially judged as a good man. The enemy, as a roaring lion, seeks whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). But often, his approach is far more subtle. He masquerades as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14), whispering “off white” truths and tempting us with fleeting comforts that lead to spiritual decay. Like rat poison, 98% nutritious, 2% deadly, Satan's deceptions often contain just enough truth to lure us in, while the hidden poison slowly destroys us.
“My man picker is broken”, said Nikki. Jesus tells us to "be on your guard against men" (Matthew 10:17). This isn't a call to suspicion, but to wise discernment. We must test everything against the "true white" of Christ's teachings. "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples," Jesus says in John 8:31. Are the influences in your life aligning with the Word of God?
The path to discernment begins with immersing ourselves in God's Word and seeking His guidance through prayer. "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5). We must cultivate a habit of seeking His ways and His direction.
Don't be deceived by what appeals to your eyes, or fleeting emotions, or the allure of worldly desires. "The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace" (Romans 8:6). Choose to fix your mind on the things of the Spirit, and you will find the discernment you need to navigate the “off-white” deceptions of Satan which eventually turn to the darkest black. Instead, you will be able to walk in the “true white” light of Christ.
