92 - Kirri – “A home invasion has left me struggling to cope mentally.”

Hi Brother Micheal,

I wanted to ask how to properly ask God to be there for support. On Tuesday morning at 5:27am myself and my two little boys were at home when our house was invaded. I had to lock myself and my children in the bathroom in the dark while on the phone to the police waiting for 15min till they got there. I know God was there because he delayed this man entering our house and hurried the police to arrive, as he smashed the windows and kicked the back door in. We were on the floor praying for Father God and Lord Jesus Christ to hurry the police as we didn’t have 3min. This Man was almost in the house. I praised Father God for being there and orchestrating it to be the way it did and saving us through his Intervention but I’m not coping mentally.

How do I correctly do this with God? I want to be obedient, and I certainly need him so much right now that I wish I could sit in his arms for a long while he just talks to me, even if it’s about his day, I just desperately need his comfort. I must say my children prayed voluntarily to Father God after the incident which is God’s work and my sister came up with her Bible that God recently encouraged her to do through the message I sent you last time of my experience.

When Fear Knocks: Finding Peace in God's Sovereignty

A home invasion like what Kirri experienced in today’s recording is a frightening scenario that evokes fear and anxiety in the strongest of hearts. Yet, during such a trial, let us remember, “Does He who implanted the ear, not hear?  Does He who formed the eye not see? (Psalm 94:9).  His unseen hand is at work, drawing us closer to Him in our desperation.

The psalmist writes, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4). These words resonate deeply when we face circumstances that threaten to overwhelm us. Like Kirri, who fell to her knees in desperate prayer during the home invasion, we too must call upon God, because He is an ever present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Jesus reminds us, "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father" (Matthew 10:29). If God cares for the sparrows, how much more does He care for us, His children? He sees our troubles, hears our cries, and holds us in His loving hands.

It's easy to question God's goodness when faced with adversity. We may wonder why He allows such things to happen. But the Bible assures us that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Even in the darkest of times, God is working to refine our faith, strengthen our trust, and reveal His glory.

So, when fear knocks, remember God's sovereignty. He has given a special demonstration in my own life of His total and Sovereign control over all people, spirits, animals, circumstances, events, and time.  Hold on to your faith.  He is in control, even when life feels out of control. He is our protector, our provider, and our deliverer. Turn to Him in prayer, cling to His promises, and find peace in the shelter of the Most High God.
