60 - Izak - “What is your advice about my dad trying to take me away from my mom?”

A 10-year-old boy wanted to know what my advice was to him, regarding the fact that his father was going to be taking his mother to court, in order to prevent her from having any more visitation with him.

Answered Prayer and the Waiting Game

In today’s recording, ten-year-old Izak faced a heartbreaking situation. His father was taking his mother to court to prevent Izak from visiting her. Distressed and angry, Izak reached out to the "man of God" his older sister had been speaking with. Together, we prayed for the father's heart to be changed.

Just days later, the incredible happened: Izak’s father changed his mind. The court case was dropped, and Izak could continue seeing his mother. This was a powerful demonstration of God's faithfulness and the power of prayer to that young heart.

However, let’s remember that God doesn't always answer prayers so quickly, or in the way we expect. 1 John 5:14 reminds us, "… that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us." The key phrase here is "according to his will."

Sometimes, God's answer is "no" or "not yet." His timing is perfect, even if it doesn't align with ours. Waiting on God can be challenging, but it's in these periods of waiting that our faith grows stronger. Just as lifting heavier weights builds muscle, waiting on God builds spiritual strength and deepens our trust in Him.

At the time of making this recording, I'd been praying for a wife for almost three years after my divorce. Though the wait was long, I held onto the promise that God would provide. The best things in life are surely worth waiting for, and the waiting period itself is an opportunity to grow closer to God.

As you navigate life's challenges, remember Izak's story. Pray with faith, trusting that God hears you. And when the answer isn't immediate, embrace the waiting period as a chance to deepen your relationship with Him, knowing that He is working all things out for your good according to His perfect plan.
