39 – Lianna - “I am worried about what I see on YouTube about End Times. Who should I believe?”
“This has been in my mind for some time, seeing other true believers, on YouTube, telling us that the judgment of God is coming and also the rapture. It is in the bible, in the book of Revelation. This worries me, they say that a microchip implant is the mark of the beast, they say there are FEMA camps, they show signs that are in the bible coming to life, who should I believe?”
Finding Peace in a YouTube World of End Times Fear
Have you ever felt like Lianna, overwhelmed with confusion, or fear, about all the end times warnings screaming to be heard on YouTube? Do you feel like the world is closing in, filled with anxieties and uncertainties? The news is full of troubling stories, and it's easy to get caught up in a spiral of fear. But take heart, dear friend, for the Bible offers us a powerful antidote to fear: faith. As Jesus himself said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me" (John 14:1).
The enemy of our souls delights in seeing us consumed by worry. He whispers lies, magnifying our fears and making mountains out of molehills. Just think of all the terrifying headlines and conspiracy theories that warned us, say three years ago, or ten years ago. Think of how much bad news you have heard over the years that never came to much of anything! And now remember your God, in His infinite love, offers us a peace that transcends all understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 instructs us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
When fear threatens to overwhelm us, we can find refuge in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 assures us, "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." God is our protector, our shield, and our strength. He promises to be with us always, even in the darkest of times.
Instead of fixating on what might go wrong (the wind and waves of Matthew 14), let us turn our eyes to Jesus and God's promises. Remember His faithfulness in the past, and trust that He will continue to guide and provide for us. "Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD" (Psalm 27:14).
Let us actively cultivate our faith through prayer, reading the Bible, and fellowship with other believers. As we draw closer to God, our fears will diminish, replaced by a deep and abiding peace. "Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him" (Psalm 34:8).
