10 – Becky – A Warning About False Prophet Kat Kerr’s “Revelation” from God on Suicide

Becky wrote an email to me wanting to share with me her insights on suicide, which she received from the notorious false prophet Kat Kerr. She asked me if I had heard of her saying, “She gives revelation from God that He has given her on her thousands of trips to heaven. She’s an amazing woman of God that speaks all over our country. You can watch all her videos on YouTube, and through her website. She gave revelation on this topic of suicide. And yes, there is a difference between blowing yourself up willingly in a terrorist attack or suicide to get back at someone. Those people do not go to heaven. However, those who are being tormented in their mind, because of something they are experiencing, Christians, they don’t want to do it but can’t escape the torture. That God looks at this like a cancer, a sickness and they are in heaven. I just wanted to share this insight, so people aren’t in agony thinking their Christian loved ones are suffering in hell.”
There is not a strong enough word to describe the grotesqueness of this false teacher and my message back to Becky was a very strong and sharp rebuke against her following Kat Ker as an “amazing woman of God…who has been to heaven thousands of times.

Discernment: Loving the Truth, Rejecting the Lies

To understand my harsh tone in this message, you should first imagine we are walking down the trail together and suddenly I see you foolishly reach towards a very poisonous snake with excitement, thinking it was exciting and harmless.  That is no time for me to be polite and gentle with you.  That is the time for me to raise my voice and add some serious heat to my warning.  In this message to Becky, about a dangerous false prophet she was endorsing, we can better understand why Paul commanded Titus to, “rebuke them sharply, so they will be sound in the faith.” (Titus 1:13)

Sister Becky did not like this message, and you might not either, but truth is rarely palatable when we're standing against it. If we love the truth, we will know the truth, and if we obey the truth, we will be set free (John 8:31-36). But what is truth? Not what we call truth, but what the Bible defines as truth. To love truth is to love Christ, for He is the Word, “and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). To be sanctified by the truth, to live by the truth, and to love the truth is to love things and people the way God sees them. It is to follow the doctrines and principles of Scripture as God intends, not as man twists them.

I’m concerned for many, not just Becky, because so many are being led astray by false teachers. Anytime you hear someone preaching something not in the Bible, giving revelation beyond the Word of God, be warned. Paul himself said, “Do not go beyond what is written” (1 Corinthians 4:6). In Revelation 22:18-19, it says that adding to or taking away from the words of prophecy brings severe consequences. God’s Word is complete. He does not give revelation outside of what is already written, except for specific personal direction.

Don't buy into the lies of a message that promises only good news. It’s not all good news; it's a mixture of good and bad. Jesus said, "Very few people are going to make it” (Matthew 7:14). The disciples were shocked by this teaching, twice questioning Jesus about it (Luke 13:23-24). The Christian life is costly. “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:26). “If you do not give up everything you have, you cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:33).

The nonsense coming from some of these YouTube preachers, especially like Kat Kerr, is an abomination. They claim to have visited heaven, seen angels, and received special revelations. Do you honestly believe there’s anyone on this planet who’s a better Christian than Paul? And yet, he heard things in heaven “that no person is permitted to tell” (2 Corinthians 12:4), yet he didn't return with fantastical stories or new doctrines. These false apostles masquerade as agents of light, just as Satan himself does (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). Jesus’s primary warning to His disciples was, "Watch out that no one deceives you. For false prophets will come to you in sheep’s clothing, inward they are ferocious wolves" (Matthew 7:15-16).

Discernment is crucial, and it comes when you give your life to Christ. Have you ever heard these false teachers preach the hard teachings of Jesus? The call to deny yourself, take up your cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24)? The warning that “everyone will be salted with fire” (Mark 9:49)? The sobering truth that "not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21)? The parable of the two houses, where only the one built on the rock, on obedience to Christ’s words, withstands the storms (Matthew 7:24-27)? The warning that “Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved” (Matthew 24:12-13)?

If you have not heard these teachings, brothers and sisters, then you must question the source. You shall know them by their fruit (Matthew 7:16). Where is the fruit of repentance, of a changed life? Where is the freedom from sin promised in John 8:36? Where is the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7)? Where are the answered prayers and fruitfulness in their lives and the lives of their followers? If you are not seeing these things, then you are being deceived. "If you do not love the truth, God is going to send you a powerful delusion so that you will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have delighted in wickedness but have not loved the truth" (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12).

I begged any who are following teachers like these, to wake up out of this deception. Turn away from this junk and embrace the truth found only in the Word of God and obedience to Christ Jesus. It’s your choice. Choose wisely.
