88- Semoben – “Paralyzed by fear, mental illness, harassed by demons, and giving up on life.”
“Mr. Chriswell, your story is very similar to mine and I want to thank you for answering my message.
I’m basically writing this with the utmost fear in me. Paralyzing fear. I’ve given up on life. I suffer from extreme mental illness and am experiencing and have experiences bad side effects from medication. No one will believe me when I tell them I’ve seen demons, had demon scratches and have experienced demonic activity with the lights going out and flickering at specific moments. I’ve lived in fear before, actually my whole life, but not like this. I am...or rather feel as I’ve always felt, completely alone in this world. I NEED NEED NEED God.
I come from a spiritual household as my dad is a minister, but I’ve seen and experienced things in the church that have made me turn away. So instead, I’ve studied other religions as well as the occult. I can’t sleep at night now, and I’m always double-checking things to see if I’m really experiencing them or if they’re a figment of my imagination. I am completely exhausted and confused. I also messed up like you and told the antichrist to do whatever he wants, then realized what u did and begged forgiveness from God and asked for deliverance and guidance. I feel like he’s not listening. Or I guess I don’t know how to listen to him. I’ve consulted with so many spiritual gurus and everything has just left me more confused. I’ve just graduated from college this past December, so I’m lost. I also have a background of intense bullying, even in college and in my personal life. I’m always being taken advantage of, and I’ve been molested many times.
Please help me in any way you can. Please. Thank you and God Bless.”
Hope for the Tormented: Finding God's Help in the Darkness
Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, tormented by worry, and lacking peace, like Semoben in today’s recording? Do the storms of spiritual warfare seem to crash around you, leaving you feeling lost and alone? Take heart, dear friend, for God's Word offers an anchor for your soul, a refuge in times of trouble.
"The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) This verse reminds us that even in our deepest pain, God is present. He sees our brokenness and offers His saving grace. He doesn't promise a life free from hardship, but He does promise to be with us through it all.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28) Jesus extends this beautiful invitation to each of us. He understands our weariness and offers true rest for our souls. This rest isn't dependent on our circumstances changing; it's a deep, abiding peace that comes from knowing we are loved and cared for by the Almighty God.
But how do we find this peace? "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6) Faith and obedience are key to unlocking the abundant life God has for us. Trusting in His promises and actively seeking Him through prayer and His Word will draw us closer to Him and allow us to experience His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
No matter how dark the storm may seem, remember that God is with you. Anchor your soul in His Word, trust in His promises, and find peace in His presence. He is faithful and will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
